FIREFIGHTERS Our firefighters are out on the frontline educating Londoners on how to be safe, and responding to emergencies, whether it be to fires, floods, road collisions, terrorist attacks, building collapses, carbon monoxide leaks, or stuck lifts. Our Prevention and Protection teams reduce risks across the capital. They inspect buildings, enforce fire safety laws, and investigate fires. Their work stops many fires before they start. Learn more CONTROL Our Control staff are based at the London Operations Centre. When you call 999, the call is transferred to them. They advise callers on what to do in an emergency and gather the necessary information to mobilise our firefighters.
